Clinic Leadership

Clinical Manager and Program Coordinator

The Clinical Manager and Program Coordinator (Assistant Manager) work together with the Unit Medical Directors at each clinic to ensure that excellent service and patient care are delivered. They are responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating the delivery of care and all related aspects. In order to provide excellent service, patient feedback is important.

From time to time the Clinical Manager or Program Coordinator may talk with patients who are here for their appointment and ask them about their experience at our clinic. They also review the Patient Comment Cards (available in each waiting room) that patients complete and work with the Family Health Team’s Community Advisory Board to ensure patient needs are met and incorporate patient feedback into our clinic operations.

A Note from the Manager

If you have an issue or concern with the care you have received and do not feel comfortable speaking about it directly with your provider, please feel free to contact either individual listed above.  As well, if there is something we have done really well or someone on our team who has done an excellent job, please let us know!

Medical Unit Directors

The Medical Unit Directors are family physicians who have administrative duties within the clinic in addition to their clinical practice.  The Medical Unit Directors work closely with the Clinical Manager and Program Coordinator to ensure that excellent service and patient care are delivered.

They also work closely with our Postgraduate team to ensure we are providing a world-class educational environment for our residents and other healthcare students.  There is a Medical Unit Director at each clinic of our Family Health Team:

  • Dr. Taunia Rifai, Medical Unit Director – Civic Clinic

  • Dr. Justine Callahan, Medical Unit Director – Riverside Clinic
